Hello Platt Families!!
Starting this Tuesday we will be hosting our Make the Grade sessions here at the PHS cafeteria. We will have a staff of teachers available to provide students with opportunities to catch up on work, receive extra help, or receive teacher-monitored Odesseyware for credit recovery. The goal is to help our kids get back on track, do some credit rescue/credit recovery, or give our kids a quiet place to work with resources available.
Sessions will be held after school for In-Person students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:15-4:15 in the cafeteria. A student can stay for the after-school session on the day that they are here, but cannot come on their "home" day. Distance Learners can come in on Thursday's from 2:45-4:45. In-Person students will have been out of the building since 1:30 so there will be no crossing of cohorts. Since we will be in the cafeteria, each student will be spaced out to a table of their own, and we will use the small gym if needed for overflow. Masks are required at all times.
We also have a virtual component! We will have a staff of teachers available online to provide resources to assist any Platt High School student. Sessions will be held after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:15-4:15 and Thursdays from 2:45-4:45.
To access the Virtual Make the Grade, students must either go to meet.google.com or go to their waffle to locate the Google Meet icon. Once there, click on Join or start a meeting. Finally, enter the meeting code: afterschoolacademy, and click Continue.
Our teachers and counselors are going to be having upcoming conversations with students in order to encourage attendance.
Thanks, and Go Panthers.
